Over the months since Tot School began on my blog, we have gathered together many wonderful moms from all over who are now sharing online what they are doing at home with their tots! This has given us moms of tots a great pool of ideas and motivation each week to spend this fun time with our little ones. If you would like to join us, here's how to get started...

This example was done using Mr Linky, but can easily help you with MckLinky too, it will show you how to find a direct link to your Tot School post, and how to link that up correctly!

straight to your current Tot School post.

and NOT to all of
your Tot School posts
(as a labeled link).
Here's how I do it...
- I start "recording" (through photos) on Monday of each week and continue through Saturday. I try to photograph our official tot school times, and I also try to capture those playful, unplanned moments that are, in fact, school for tots as they learn naturally. I document both on my weekly report. I tend to take a lot of photos naturally, but you don't have to. If taking pictures interrupts your flow, don't do it! Never let taking photos for your blog come before enjoying Tot School with your Tot!
- As for the weekly report, I post it and MckLinky each Sunday.
- For anyone who would like to join us but isn't quite sure how to do a tot school report, here's my advice...start taking pictures, keep your camera around and capture your little one in action. At the end of the week go through and choose the very best photos that show readers what your tot school looks like. For some it is planned activities, for some it is very unplanned...it doesn't matter! Then write up a post either about ALL of your collected photos, or just one to highlight something your tot did. You certainly don't have to do the time consuming (but worth it for me personally because I love looking back), lengthy posts that I and a few others do.
- Add your Tot School post, ANYTIME from Sunday through Friday, whatever works for you. Be sure to check back on old posts if you like to see ideas, as some people put their link up later in the week.
- After you join up with Tot School the first few times, I add your blog to the Tot School webpage. If you haven't seen it, go check it out. I only do this if you have mentioned Tot School in your post and your post was written exclusively for Tot School.
- When you are ready to link up your post, please remember to link DIRECTLY to your TOT SCHOOL post, not to your homepage, SEE BELOW for a tutorial of how to do that!
- Also, please provide a link back to either the Tot School weekly post that you have linked up to, or the Tot School main webpage. This is a courtesy to the blog host and also to the others participating so their links get shared also. It also provides your readers with the opportunity to see the other posts and possibly jump on board! You are welcome to just link back within your text or you can use our Tot School graphic.
- If you do not link to your direct Tot School post and/or link back to Tot School somehow, your link will be deleted. The whole point of the MckLinky is to gather and share Tot School ideas. It's important to not only share your ideas but also direct your readers to other people's ideas too! Thank you for understanding this, I hate being the *link police* but as Tot school grows I need to keep it organized for everyone so it can be the most helpful!
